I am NOT Allowed to be ME

I am empty, there's nothing left inside,

A shell of a person, just going through the ride.

I'm not allowed to speak my mind or be myself,

Instead, I'm told to do what I'm told, and keep my feelings on the shelf.

When I'm happy, I can't express my joy out loud,

And when I'm sad, I'm not allowed to be understood.

I'm forced to suppress my anger and not let it show,

I feel trapped and powerless, with nowhere else to go.

I don't know why I can't be who I truly am,

The person that God has created, unique and grand.

But instead, I feel like a hollow and unrecognizable clone,

And I'm sorry that I can't be the person God has shown.

I'm tired of being someone I'm not,

I want to be true to myself, to give it a shot.

I want to break free and be whole,

To let my true self out, and finally take control.

We are still the same no matter how much we have changed.

The earth revolves and the world goes around.

We thought we evolved,

yet we still do the same things no matter how different they sound.

GOD is the same yesterday, today and forever

...we are made in the image of GOD.

So with that can I say that

we would still be the same no matter how much we have changed.

In today's world the ability to multitask is often much valued.

Doing several things at the same time may get things done faster but not necessarily better.

So FOCUS on the task at hand and get it done well.
